尋找一個理論定位

任何一個關心當代都市議題的人，恐怕都沒有辦法逃避David Harvey。雖然是個地理學家，Harvey卻讓我們從都市空間的雜亂裡看到歷史動力的遺跡。

前些日子，Harvey來台北，我卻因為有事而無法到場聆聽。甚憾。前些天卻在美國柏克萊大學國際研究中心UCTV Podcasts 上找到他與Harry Kreisler的一場對談，是該中心「與歷史對談（Conversations with History）」系列對談的其中一場。

這個對談不只談到他新書裡對「新式美國帝國主義」的研究，更談到他的受教育過程、學術發展過程，以及他對年輕研究者的「勸誡」。大綱如下：
